Let's face it , the only reason to buy a prebuilt pc or a so called custom pc ,is because we lack the know how , confidence ,  enthusiasm or plain just don't know ,what we are buying (and what a piece of junk it is!).

         In these  articles we will explore the building of your own desktop pc without having to overspend on parts you probalbly will never use .
 this has the advantage of freeing up cash to spend on the more apealing and useable items such as bigger hard drives  , or that super dooper grahics card you want.

       Many pre built , or even built to order pc do not have the accessories built in , any many builders take advantage of their current stock , and add your specific hardware reqirement into a spare slot , when of couse , there are many motherbooards that have them built in as standard .

I do under stand that in order to make money , buying bulk , broad specifics , board is very cost effective , yet they will not tell you this , nor can you specify a particular board .

 For example , you want  a new 1gbit internet connection , pointless as you cannot use it , but you want to be future ready ( or you should) , if you specify this thay will add a card  in your pci slot !

The point I am making , is that bulk buyers are normaly offered good deals to buy an outdated board , simply because the new replacement model is out , and they need to shift the old ( motherboards etc can become outdated in as little as 8 weeks !)

Also these are not top of the range boards no matter what the ad says .

    Your average good board will have the necessary addons, BUILT IN, so you wont have to lose slots .                                      What is the point having a really fast pc when there is only one slot left as all the others are taken with sata , and network adpters and the like .                                                                    Remember of couse if you do want to buy a specific pci , some are 2 slots wide ! So why even make a motherboard with 1 pcie and pci 16x  and 2 pci , chances are you could lose access to 2 these slots and your friends will ask if your pc can do something or other and you will says yes ,but I will have to uninstall one of my cards ( if possible)

   So have a list of what you want and dont want , and have a look at the top range expensive board only layouts , you will see a variety of built in items .

Some are future proof/next generation hardware , and go down the lists of the cheaper versions , as of course , they start cutting items to lower the price .

This is a marketability thing as it doesn't cost more to make the best board , they can just ask for more money , boards cost pennies to make , its the research and developement that costs ! Though copied technology from another innovator  has virtually no r&d!
